External Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to play a key role within the Financial Reporting & Control team reporting to the Financial Reporting & Control lead.

You will be responsible for ensuring an appropriate financial reporting control framework is in place for the company certifying that the financial reporting is reliable covering both IFRS and Solvency II.  In addition, you will play an active role in the development and in provident in the ORCM (Operational Risk and Control Management) Framework across GI Finance.

You will be delivering or supporting delivery of outputs for the CFO, Audit Committee, the Board and Aviva Group.  You will receive direct exposure to the CFO.  The role will work closely with wider Aviva Group colleagues.  The role offers excellent opportunities to interact with senior management.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Working with management to identify key controls across the various financial reporting processes;
  • Assessment (documentation and testing) of key controls to determine if they are adequately designed and operating as expected;
  • Reporting of approach and results to the CFO, Board and Audit Committee;
  • Supporting the Finance team in the development and embedment of an ORCM framework

Skills & Experience required:

  • Strong experience in financial services financial reporting
  • Strong financial/regulatory reporting and accounting skills
  • Collaboration across other Finance and other Aviva teams
  • Ability to challenge senior leadership and the status quo is essential
  • Verbal and presentation skills and ability to present complex issues simply is essential
  • Proven track record of delivery within tight timelines
  • Attention to detail
  • Practice stakeholder engagement from process delivery through to insightful outputs
