External Description: This is an exciting opportunity to join Aviva Digital Data team, using domain driven design and the latest technologies to put data at the heart of the digital transformation. It is seen by all major stakeholders to be transformative. As Aviva Digital's first Lead Data Designer, you will be working closely with the Digital Data Platform Architect to shape and deliver our data strategy. We're at the start of our journey, giving you the opportunity to craft and drive forward this vital work from the ground up. There will be international travel and the opportunity to drive the technology for managing data design. Assignments 1. Global Person mastering. We've heard of mastering data but not having an approach to global mastering. Understanding how people around the globe are codified and having a common understanding of them in common software. 2.Global organisation mastering Companies PLCs 3.Transforming the understanding of broker relationships across the group. Setting up a domain driven design practice to ensure that this approach sticks. 4.Basically if you believe it was always about the data, have a strong grasp of domain driven design and want to lead a transformational team then this is your job. Overview of key responsibilities: Managing a team of data modellers who are performing analysis and modelling activities Harvesting knowledge of multiple business domain experts and collaboratively defining sustainable business data models Creation of the team's standards and processes, taking a broad enterprise perspective - while you may not be hands on creating the models, you will be responsible for ensuring these are completed to high standards Ensuring models are built to be long-lasting artefacts that provide a solid platform from which to develop IT applications and drive analytical insight Developing policies and governance around Aviva's global business data models Implementing and embedding a robust demand and supply management model for the team Developing the skills and capability of your team (people and processes) to meet the ever- evolving needs of our business Required skills / knowledge: Previous experience of creating and working with business data models (especially top down modelling) as well as data analysis Confidence and experience working with IT specialists who will physically build the models Ability to form and run modelling workshops and get agreement from business owners Knowledge of Object Orientated analysis is an advantage Ability to coach and develop others A good mix of technical, business and interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written A drive for continual self-improvement and learning Experience of Aviva's business domains of savings, life and pensions or general insurance products would be an advantage What will you get for this role?
